SCCCC Tuesday Rides
All Rides are open to the general public - helmets required
Tuesday Ride Start Locations
First and Third Tuesday of the month
The start is at Gateway Plaza (the shopping center on River St. near Hwy 1).
Let's park on the east side of the lot (right below the river levy) - to avoid interfering with customer parking for the stores there.
Note that there is no public water and restrooms available, but the local restaurants, such as Java Junction and Gigi's,
do have facilities for their customers.

Second and Fourth Tuesday of the month
The ride start for every other Tuesday, starting with the second Tuesday of each month, is always at the parking
area on Aptos Creek Rd. (the entrance road to Nisene Marks State Park, in Aptos
near Soquel Dr:

Fifth Tuesday of the month
The start location of the fifth Tuesday ride of each month (if applicable) will be a leader's choice.
The leader will specify any reasonable starting place for the ride. Suggestion: it’s nice to have parking, water, and toilets available.
(Riders will need to pay attention to the email to the SCCCC list from the ride leader to know where to show up for the ride.)

Tuesday Ride Description
Tuesday rides are moderately paced social rides, always involving coffee and lunch stops.
(i.e. The Buttery, Five-Mile House and Sunset beach stopover are common stops.)
Riders of all levels are welcome; no rider is left behind. Please make sure your bicycle is in good working order.
Rides are typically 20-30 miles with some hill climbing. It’s a good idea, but not required,
to name some optional "extra credit" roads which add mileage and/or climbing for those wanting a harder workout.
All Tuesday rides start at 10 a.m. It is recommended that participants arrive at 9:45 a.m. to sign up and get route sheets. Specific Tuesday routes are not announced in the Roadrunner or on the club website. However, the leader should send a message with the route to the SCCCC mailing list, scccc@santacruzcycling.org, a couple of days before the ride. (If no map or mileage is included in the route description, sometimes a volunteer will map it on the web and post a link - and perhaps an improved cue sheet - to the mailing list in response to the leader's message.)
If you are not on the club Email distribution
list, please contact Jim Denton
for the location.

How to Lead a Tuesday Ride
It is fairly easy to lead a club ride. On the homepage, scroll down to the Club Forms tab.
Read the two-page Ride Leader Check Off guidelines.
Then download the ride sign up sheets and the incident report form.
For route sheets, go to the Library of Rides and copy an existing ride
(unfortunately, the "Route Map" links on that page that go to routeslip.com no longer work,
but the "Route Description" links still work) or make up your own route. If you know of something interesting,
just add it to your ride. (SCCCC riders have visited a garden, railroad, sculpture exhibits, the county fair and museums.)
A good lunch spot is an essential part of any club ride. Most importantly, have fun!
As a ride leader keep in mind that we advertise our rides as follows:
