Map of courseCourse

The course hasn't changed since 1970, and is a challenging loop with eight turns, including two hairpins, and several short, but significant, climbs and descents. The race distance will vary between 9 and 45 miles depending on the number of laps run by the specific race category. Each lap is about 0.9 miles.

Feel free to read a Race Report, or two, or three, from Team Santa Cruz members for some tips on racing the course.

History

This race is called a Classic with good reason, running on the same course since 1970. See race photos from Byron Servies, Doug Smith, Garret Lau, or Velo Girls, or read news articles from the Santa Cruz Sentinel: 2003, 2004, 2005.
