SCCCC Saturday Ride

Bicycle club members lead group rides for the enjoyment and pleasure of the bicycling community. These rides are social and educational events. Experienced riders will be on hand to answer cycling related questions and instruct less experienced riders on the fundamentals of group riding, vehicular cycling and bicycle maintenance.
Saturday bicycle rides (or carpools) usually start from the Capitola Community Center (Jade St/45 Ave) just off 41st Avenue in Capitola. Rides range in distance, pace and elevation, with A rides covering up to 20 miles, at 8-10 mph, with 1,000' or less of elevation. The B ride is for the intermediate rider with distances of 30-40 miles, at 12-14 mph pace, with 2000' or less of elevation and C rides may cover 40-60 miles, at a 15-20 mph pace, with 2,000' to 3,000' or more of elevation. Riders regroup during the route, so nobody is left behind. Rain cancels rides. Before the ride starts, every participant must sign a League of American Bicyclist (LAB) approved waiver stating that the Santa Cruz County Cycling Club is not responsible for any incidents occurring during the ride.
